  • Vraysky Overcast too bright

Is it possible to use the Overcast sky without a physical camera?

I have a standard camera and I'm trying to turn down the intensity of the overcast sky but it's always stays the same -- blown-out full bright.

    Is that as intended?

    (I'm on max 2011 vray 1.5sp5)

It works as intended, yes. It would work best with a V-Ray camera, but if you want to use a standard one, there are several things to do. You can adjust the horizontal illuminance of the sky; you can also adjust the color mapping bright and dark multipliers, or you can pipe the VRaySky texture through an Output map and adjust its intensity there.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
