  • problem with area shadows in photometric lights in max 2011

    Hi Vlado,
I don't know if the last week's support with mail problem has been solved so I had to post here too :
I have a photometric light in my scene and when I activate Area Shadows option (under vray shadow settings), shadows and lights render wrong.
Unfortunately I can't send renders here. But
I sent a mail at vlado(at)chaosgroup.com. When I activate area shadows (from VrayShadow settings), the surface which are supposed to be in shadow, renders to be in light.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

It is normal since then the light is assumed to have an actual size (the one specified in the VRayShadows parameters). In you case, that size goes outside of your object. You can try using box shadows instead of spherical shadows, or reducing the size.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
