That @%#$@ing Raytrace Messagebox

Maybe this is more of a rant than anything else....

But can't something be done about that @^$&ing Raytrace Messagebox???? I'm guessing it's out of Vlado's hands or else he'd surely have done something about it by now. Drives me NUTS!! Always popping up and it keeps centering itself over the VFB rather than staying off to the side where I moved it. I know... I know... I can go to the Max raytrace tabs and turn it off... but that only works for the current max session.

Vlado... you think it's something the guys at Blur/Splutterfish might be able to help out with? Didn't they write a lot of that code?

Just switch to the scanline renderer for a moment (either as production or ActiveShade renderer) and turn it off from there.

a = RaytraceGlobalSettings()

--a.enable_raytracing = false --turns raytracing off
--showproperties a --displays all the properties in the max listener
a.showMessages = false --turns messages off

Put this code on a button or as a script in the startup scripts folder. Should turn the message off, get rid of the comments to see other options.

ooooh.... Thanks Dave!! Not sure why I didn't think of that, but that's a quicker fix than switching renderers and turning it off there.
