  • Problems with LC/LC solution with animation

    Hello Vlado

I've got a complex animation running from Frame 1 to 2650.

I've got multiples cameras from different frame ranges. I'm using LC/LC because I need very fast rendering.

For example, with one of my 16 cameras, animation appends from 1 to 2650, but I only want to get light cache from 2500 to 2600.
As far as I know LC is computing camera space... so it compute LC from 1 to 2650, so I got a very low LC from 2500 to 2600.

    Hope to be clear.

Is it possible to get LC from 2500 to 2600 only ?

    Best regards...

In the past, I just set my active time segment to that frame range and render the LC. So in your case you could set the frame range from 2500-2600 and then calc a LC. It seems to have worked for me.

I'm doing backburners renders. So I set my frame range to single.

Correct, I was talking about the active time segment in max. At the lower left corner there is a Time configuration button. Once inside that dialogue box, you can change the active time segment.

Hello, its not working, LC doen't take about Active time segment.

The only solution I found was to place my camera in an empty place in the scene at the frame before camera's animation start.

Maybe it will be good to find a solution without tweaking. Maybe a range into the camera. I don't know...

              Best regards.

Hmm...I will try to take a look at my file later today if I get a chance. I was almost positive this worked just fine for that animation. The second half of the animation started @ frame 1275 to 1980.

Maybe someone else will jump in with an alternate solution.
