  • Error Loading ParamBlock2

I am getting an error when opening some old scenes (from 2008 ):
    Error Loading ParamBlock2
Invalid file - only partially loaded.

Attached is a small piece of one of the scenes that produces the error:

If I open the scene on 3ds Max without V-Ray installed, the scene opens fine. I then tried changing the renderer to Scanline and opening it again on Max with V-Ray installed, and this solved the problem on some scenes, but not on another which keep giving the same error which ends up crashing Max.

    Regards,
    Robert

The problem is in V-Ray RT; some of the nightly builds had some parameters in the parameter block mixed up. This was corrected a few days later, but any files saved with that version of V-Ray RT will have this problem.

To correct this, rename the file c:\program files\autodesk\3ds Max NNNN\plugins\vrayplugins\vray_rtmaxNNNN.dlr, open the .max file, assign the Default scanline renderer as the ActiveShade renderer, and save the scene.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

This is rather old, but I am having the same issue on a scene. The scene is only three months old, but I can't open it. I am getting the Error Loading ParamBlock2 error.
