We are using Design 2009 and 2010 on 32 bit/64 bit workstations and 64 bit rendering servers. We set the rendering servers so a variety of versions of Vray spawners (SP3a for 2009x86, SP3a for 2009x64, SP4a for 2010x86 and SP4a for 2010x64), in addition to Backburner, would be running on each server. Vray Spawners are running in the application mode, not as service. There is no problem with this setting.
I recently installed Design 2011 (x86 and x64) with Vray SP5 onto the 64 bit rendering servers and some client workstations. I tried backburner after installing the latest Vray so it would "initialize" the spawner. Backburner worked OK.
Then, I tried the SP 5 Spawners on Design 2011, but it didn't work perfectly. I found the new spawner works fine only when a single version of 2011 spawner (either SP5 for x86 or SP 5 for x64) is running on the server, but it doesn't work when other versions of Spawners are running at the same time, like SP5 for 2011x86 with SP5 for 2011x64, SP5 for 2011x64 with SP3a for 2009x86, etc. This happened no matter which servers and workstations I tried.
I also found that even the older Spawners (SP 4a for 2010 and SP 3a for 2009) get unstable when the latest (SP5 for 2011) spawner is running on the rendering server.
What can I do for this? Or is it that we can't use the latest spawners for 2011 while using the older spawners for 2010 and 2009?
