  • Problem with Specular on VRaySSS2 and normal map

    Hey VRayers,
I'm having a problem with the VRaySS2 material and the speculars when a normal map is applied. Take a look at this normal mapped gray shader where the normal map looks just fine.

When I do it with the SSS2 material it looks like this with these white specs (which is definitely from the specular channel element). Any ideas for how to fix it?

It will be fixed, but for the time being, you can work around this by using a VRayBlendMtl material with the sss2 material as base, without specular, and a separate coat material with a Falloff map for the blend amount just for the speculars.

    Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
