  • extreme highlighs on displacements through glasses using Gamma 2.2

I modeled a carpet and simulated the spikes with a vray displacement , then i placed on it a glass table. Rear the camera there is a window with a skyportal and a sun that goes through it.
Ok, the carpet refracted under the glass is overbrighted and every spike is white, only under the table, all around the table is ok.
    Why?
I will attach the render when it will finish.

    Vray 1.5Sp5 Max 2010

    Best regards.

    the example

Notice the table in the lower part of the image.
This scene has nothing special, one sun and 5 skyportals behind the windows
Why the displacemente through the glass is white???

    I used gamma 2.2

This image is a small version of the 3507x2478 original file. The image was renderend with my renderfarm

    best regards

I rendered the same scene substituting the Irradiance Map with Brute Force and the displacement under the table was clean, without white artifacts

I don't use materials with Color Correct plugin.

Does anyone understand the problem? Is an Irradiance Map bug?

      Best regards.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, as then it would probably be apparent everywhere, not only through glass. Does it go away if you don't have displacement?

Ok then; is it possible to get us the scene to vray@chaosgroup.com (or at least the part of it that reproduces the problem)?

            Best regards,

I found the problem cause, it's on Sample lookup.
I always used Overlapping, but switching on Density-based the rendering is correct now.

Haven't I use overlapping? is it only for previews?

              Best regards.

Oh, ok. The overlapping mode can produce such results sometimes, especially with relatively low min/max rates.
