  • lwf for flat VrayMtl?

    Hi,

Have an express problem/doubt, have we to apply a Gamma correct or VrayColor map to VrayMtl without textures? (only diffuse color), i read about the autogamma plugin and the author sayd ""Max gives you the option to do this you can set bitmap input to 2.2 in the gamma preferences BUT Max will not apply a gamma correction to a flat colour e.g. a red colour swatch with no bitmap on it.""

It`s enough checking LWF on Color mapping? (working then with 1.0 in Pref>Input)

    Need some light on it...

    Thanks for your attention,

    Regards

You are correct - bitmap input gamma of 2.2 will only correct bitmaps ie make it darker - flat colours, use VrayColor Material and specify gamma of 2.2.
The other method (I've never tried it myself), is to leave all settings default and click "linear workflow" (Vray color mapping) - also specify gamma 2.2.

Ok ok i read a little about lwf but this stuff of materials with only color wasn't there....

I tried the 2ยบ choice about checking the lwf in Color mapping and yes, it seems to work but the results are a bit darker than using VrayColor (for diffuse mats) and 2.2 in Preferences (for bitmaps mats)

Thank you very much for repplying!!
