  • license problem

    hi,
i cant seem to get Vray to work..
followed all the instructions but on the Vray Authorization tab i keep getting the msg: "Could not obtain license (1002)."

This error means that there are no free licenses of V-Ray; if you open the license server web page, what does it say?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

is that where u connect to http://127.0.0.1:30304/getstatus ?
if so then i get 0's on all counts..
since there is license information in there i set u the attachment to vray@chaosgroup.com..

          ugh!
just installed vray 2.0, updated dongle with the new .rtu..
but now Max says: "Could not obtain license (-200)."

If you open the license server web page, do you see all the licenses listed correctly?

              Best regards,
              Vlado

oddly i stopped being able to open the webpage, whether its for Status or Update

hmmm, i dont see any of those 2 services running (those 2 i got prompted for upon uninstalling v1.5)..
ok hold on, i think i got it..

Ok then, you can try running the license server manually from the Start Menu > Programs > Chaos Group > V-Ray for 3ds Max > Licensing > Launch V-Ray license server.

You can also optionally register the license server as a Windows service so that it runs automatically when the machine boots.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado
