  • DR Spawner as a service

    hi,
weird, when i register DR Spawner as a service it seems the slave node will render without textures..
so everytime i gotta connect to the slave remotely to manually launch DR Spawner in order for it to render properly..
    any thoughts? :\

It's all a matter of setting up the service to run with the correct user account from the Services applet in the Control Panel.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

hmm, could u throw in a couple more details plz? cuz there's quite a few pages of service options under [control panel > admin tools > services]..

whenever the slave accessed the shared folder for the first time (per system boot) i'd get a prompt for user/pass input, so what i did was to set this up with Windows' Credential Manager..
after this, since the slave no longer had to flash its credentials n it could access the shared folder freely, i figured it would just continue to do so after i registered Dr Spawner as a service, but that didnt happen :\

Thanks You Vlado, Dr by Services Working with textures now !

But why must we change the property of this services manually ?
Can't make this thing automaticly with the installer ?

        FJ :
Find a screen cap of the way you must change the property of this services.
In the task manager > Services tab > Services in the bottom > right clic on the services in the list then properties > connection tab >and assign an account

ugh, its still not letting me do it..

when i use Windows Explorer to navigate to the shared folder like \\MasterUser\SharedFolder\ it will ask for a user/pass..
it is this same user/pass information that im inserting on that Properties menu on ur screenshot..
but then it will not let me start the service, it tells me something like "logon failure" :\

im also noticing that it changes the user from "MasterUser" to ".\MasterUser" n changes the pass from 8 asterisks to 15 asterisks.. dont know if this is the issue..

if u are on vista or Seven, you certainly must disable UAC. we have to disable it for a lot of software

ugh, y must i go thru this every time...
now i cant even get textures with OR without it as a service..
              dunno whats wrong..
i can access the textures over the network if i navigate thru windows explorer.. i set up network paths everywhere, both in Options n in Material Editor.. also for good measure set up network paths in Asset Tracker (dunno if it matters or not)..
              any ideas? :\
