  • REFRACTIVE CAUSTIC with Vray Sun

    Hi all,

    is there anyone that knows how to reduce artefact of refractive caustic
    with vray sun trough a glass material. see attached example.

    i tried a material wrapper on a glass material with unchecked generate caustic but it don't work.

    Vray 1.5 SP5 Max2011

    I could be wrong but is there any chance that's a GI error?

      Those don't look like caustics. Those look like GI as Jo said. IF they were refractive caustics, you could turn them off by turning off "Generate Caustics" for your lights

        thanks for your reply, but i d'ont understand why Vray sun trough glass material make
        this GI artefact i always used the same GI settings , i've read in another thread that a big
        clear surface can make this results, and indeed I've a big white wall just behind the glass
        material (on the left in black in the attachement.)
        is there a solution for you ?

          Something looks odd there. It almost looks like your not using GI.
          Could you post up your settings?
