  • HowTo: textured projector light with env fog

    Hi all!

I've been trying to utilise vrayenvfog in producing something like this:

    http://www.todaygadgets.com/wp-conte...VPL-VW90ES.jpg

Basically what I need is a vrayenvfog projector light, which in my scene is used to simulate a light coming from a cinema projector. Right now the spotlight interacts with the fog, but no matter what I do i just can't force it to use the bitmap in the light cone. Using it in the ligh't 'projector map' slot does nothing, and the same bitmap in the fog's 'fog color' slot renders it completely black.

Has any of you tried something like this? Any luck?
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but have no idea what...

You can put a transparent plane in front of the light, much like a real projector...

Ok guys, thank you very much for the suggestions...
...it seems that I did somoething wrong, because the light works just fine WITHOUT the need for shadow maps.

standard target spotlight + texture in a 'projector map' slot + vrayenvfog = just what I needed, but somehow wasn't able to achieve
