  • A crucial DR related problem

I have been having this problem since Sp2 and Vlado once suggested I did not use interpolation in materials.
But as you can see in this screengrab I still have this problem.
I restarted the DR slaves but nothing helps.
(pls note that all slaves are searching the textures on the server (I checked)

Are your renderslaves using , as separator ?
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

As I remember they must be the same. You have . as separator (decimal symbol) on screenshot. Control panel->region and language->advanced->decimal symbol (win7)

I am sorry but I don't know where you see the ". "
do you mean the 10.0.0.3 for example ?

BTW - This problem is not constant - it may happen on some scenes and not the others.

            F.e. pixel aspect.

Change ur values in vray properties to default. And press render.

I assume that render is with a basic vray overide material?
What are you using to light the scene? Vray sky or HDR?
Are there any vrayproxies? Are they all UNC'd correctly?
Is spawner running as a service?

We get these kind of things very occasionally, and normally rebooting the render slaves solves the problem.
              Kind Regards,

Is it always the same nodes?

Did you use the bitmap path editor to verify that there is not a map with the wrong path?

I occasionally run into this. For whatever reason a node will not load a map even though it's UNC and loads fine on the other nodes. You could change the maps to a local path on the problem nodes as an experiment to see if it goes away. If it does then you know it is a network issue.

The nodes causing the problem me change

I checked all the bitmaps - they are UNCed correctly.
I have quite a big Harddisk used for textures so I may not move the bitmaps to the nodes...

I'm a bit snowed under at the moment, but if you want to send a bit of your scene to me that has problems, I'll see what happens here.
                      Kind Regards,

I wonder if your hitting a bottle neck with the sever not being able to distribute all the maps correctly. If you used the resource collector you could move only the maps needed for the test. A bit of a pain on a lot of nodes but it would eliminate the network as the issue. Maybe you could come up with a simplified test seen that duplicates the problem.

If maps are the problem, then you just can hit the check for missing files.

                            Guys
I don't thiink it has to do with the location of the maps as it also affects a 2SidedMaterial which has no maps in it.

I wish Vlado could help - This costs me money now.

You could disable IR and LC one at a time to see if it's related to them. Do the buckets match then?

Is it always the same node?
