Hello together,
we bought four licenses of vray 2.0.
Actually we stay with 3ds max 2008 and vray 1.5 SP5.
As Autodesk subscription customer we thought about a big max update in the early new year and simoultanous to switch to vray 2.0.
So I tested an old scene at first with max 2008 amd vray 1.5 and then with max 2011 and vray 2.0.
The scene has about 7.5 Mio polys, some proxys, very much bitmap-maps, a huge amount of CAD-geometry and a little bit displacement. A nice mix of different features I thougt ideal as a testing scene.
The rendering was done with a 8core XEON with 8GB Ram
In max 2008 with vray 1.5 it rendered in 47min-58sec
In max 2011 with vray 2.0 it renderd in 48min-27sec
I know 2.0 is still beta so I decided to start this thread. Will it get faster in final version?
Best regards,
stefan
