  • Vray dirt not able to see effect no matter what settings I use.

I have a set of floor planks and Im using the vray dirt with inverted normals to produce a worn look around the edges but I cant seem to get the distribution to work well at all. It doesnt seem to apply to any of the faces. Ive tried changing the all the values but to no avail.

Any ideas what is wrong ?

Ive tried to use the vray edgetex as a mask (and this works really well( but it doesnt give enough options to use a texture as a radius map and just creates a straight edge along all the edges. Would this be possible to implement ??? because to be honest this would be much easier to use instead of the vray dirtymap.

try to use a vray edgetex and plug it into a vray comptex...use Mimimum (Min{A,B}) and put a smoke, noise etc into slot B. There is is a nice tutorial on peter guthries blog http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/tag/vrayedgestex/

        give it a try
