  • Vray2.0 - Adjusting gamma on VRayHDRI map creates artifacts in scene

Sometimes I will alter the gamma setting on the VRayHDRI map to add more contrast to an HDR. Doing so in VRay 1.5 and earlier caused no problems. In 2.0 I'm finding that when I adjust the gamma setting it's causing artifacts in my scene. The artifacts are black lines that appear on my geometry. I've attached a render showing these artifacts.

This happens on my existing/older scenes when rendered with VRay 2.0 as well as new scenes created in 2.0. I've also verified that it's not specific to one HDR I have. I tried several HDR's and they all created these artifacts when I lowered the gamma setting on the VRayHDRI map. When the gamma setting on the VRayHDRI map is changed back to 1.0 the artifacts aren't rendered.

I see that you are using a beta version; this is fixed in the release.

    Best regards,

Oh, sorry...I'm confused then. I didn't realize I installed a beta version. I thought the file I installed from "vray_adv_20001_max2011_x64.exe" dated 12/6/2010 was the actual release. Will the non-beta version be available in the not-to-distant future?
