Is my large vrimage opening or not ?

I have just rendered out a very large image. Its ended up being a 2.2gb vrimage file. Im trying to open it up in the VFB and windows 7 is just showing a timer icon. Has been like this for 10 minutes now.

I have a 12gb machine with i940 cpu.

First time I tried opening the scene max crashed. Im assuming its because it still had the scene in memory.

Any ideas if there is a more efficient way of opening these files rather than through the VFB ?

Can't you use the v-ray command line utility to convert it to an exr? This is how I do it.

I havent got a clue how to do that...never used the command land util before.

Never mind...ive worked it out. Thanks for that...fingers crossed this works !
