  • update to 2.0 license prob

    Hi,
    I just downloaded the 2.0 EDU version. After deinstall 1.5, I installed 2.0.
    At the moment I´m using my old dongle because I was allowed to update.
    Now I could not obtain a license ( -197 ) in vray ui.
    When I hit the render Button the error "Could not obtain a license (-9" appears.
    In the license browser only the version 1.5 is listed.
    Maybe my dongle is only for 1.5 ?
    Can somebody help me in this case?

    My assumption was you needed to send a .wbc file to chaosgroup and get a .rtu file in return. Then use that to update the dongle. I sent my .wbc last week, though, and have yet to hear anything. It's possible I'm very wrong, but if that's the case could someone please advise us both?

      hey,
      I just read that in the manual at the moment and sent my wbc to cg. I think you´re right and that the dongle has to be configured for the new software!?

              I haven't yet, I sent my wbc on the 8th. I understand if they're swamped right after launch day though.

                Yes Vlado, thx! got the reply today and send it yesterday!
                did you use another adress instead of vray@chaosgroup.com? Maybe something went wrong.
                But your problem is fixed after you get the new wbc. Just open the file. It updates your license an that will solve your problem.

                      Hm, you should try to get your email server un-listed, but sending from gmail or similar will probably work fine.

                            Hm, it might be possible that it was marked wrongly as spam; can you re-send it also to vlado@chaosgroup.com, vlado_nk@yahoo.com and vladonk@gmail.com ? One of those has to work...
