Hello-

I have this scene that brings all my machines to their knees. Even with the lowest of V-Ray settings all 5 machines's ram (12 gig per) go to 100% and the machines lock up. I can't cancel the render, which sits at calculating light cache.., without showing any estimated time. Material override with a gray material and displacement turnned off doesn't help.

Any clues?

Might be scene bug. Have u try to render in isolation mode few objects? Or try exporting all to OBJ>Import and reshade... try narrow down the issue might be one of models with TS set to10...

I think I have tried everything..! Merging the scene doesn't help..! The scene worked up until this morning and nothing has changed to the model from the time I wasn't having issues.

what a headache! I exported it out as a OBJ and the exporter gave me an error. I delete the object which cause the error, which was the site, and it rendered fine. Now I have to rebuild the site.

For the future try saving copies of your project, I know I do... 50 copies for 1 studio shot hehe
