  • Animation prepass / animation rendering

I have been following http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150S...ials_anim2.htm I rendered out the IR maps and then switched to animation rendering and pointed to the first file in the folder which is around 8mb but in doing so the samples/bytes still stay at 0 yet in the tutorial at both animation pre pass and animation rendering the samples is around 101307 :/

Also the end result is very splotchy, but I put this down to maybe not loading the save IR maps correctly? Are they settings in the above tutorial high enough for a interior scene with lots of reflection and low lighting?

Also when submitting the job to back burner it still does 4 passes on the irradiance map before it renders the final image. I thought by pre calculating it it shouldn't do this?

      http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...mation+prepass

"make sure the anim prepass file load as the original xxxx.vrmap try not to load the ones with frames number (ie: _026.vrmap unless you are rendering without interpolation)"

My files starts with ir_map_0000 there is no ir_map_

In the image 1.6.5 it's showing Animation (rendering) for the Irradiance Map mode. Should this not say pre-pass?

Why when i load the irradiance map prepass when i choose animation rendering it still does 4 passes and calculates the irradiance map. Also the result is very blotchy, I followed the tutorial from my first post. Same settings etc.

Is it best to bake the light cache in with the irradiance map and turn secondary GI off or to leave light cache as secondary and turn on use glossy rays and use camera path. which method is best?
