    Hi all,
Have made a helix spiral wall which needs the top sides to be bevelled trouble is its all brick work and when i map it using standard techniques the elevation is fin but the top bevel and top face are all at an angle and dont match the brick...

any ideas cant really loft it as its got to be beveled on all sides

    will posty pic soon
    thanks!

      Hi Simon,

      Did you anything special?
I testet the Helix with a sweep Modifier and with the Loft Method...everything works fine here...

        hi toko.

Thanks for the reply should of mentioned that the shapes are not constant like a helix, the spiral gets tighter and wider at funny points

will give this a go tho thanks!

Alternatively you can select the top faces, and apply a Unwrap UVW modifier to the object. Go into face mode (3) and press the "Edit" button to go into the UVs. Select the top polys again (they should already be selected) and goto "Mapping" at the top and try "Unfold Mapping", then you'll just have to align the edges of the UVs so they're straight.

cool guys thanks for you help! have worked out our to construct it for real so modeled it that way means stepping brick work that is horizontal but looks better, and seeing as this will be on site eventually i'd have to draw the details anyway.

            cheers

            Si.
