Hi Everyone
I've recently taken interest in those fancy new Vray Lens Effects, but have run into a problem/limitation when saving to my studio's preferred .vrimg or .exr multi channel images.
The special passes for the Vray Lens effects are not being saved through the Vray raw image file saver, and the effect is not showing up in the main RGB channel of the image either. It seems the post effect is performed after the raw images are finished saving.
Using the advanced max .exr saver to get the Vray channels isn't much better, because it doesn't grab the Lens Effects specific passes, perhaps since they're not technically on Max's Render Elements list. It does at least save the post effect to the saved image's main RGB channel.
It is possible to save out the Lens Effects using vray's Split render channels saver, but the pile of files that makes is rather unpleasant for our compositors, so we'd like to avoid that if possible. We can also use a quick second render using the split channels as a work around to just get the effect, but work arounds and extra renders are obviously not preferable.
Any one else run into this? Is this just a common issue with render effects that I'm just now noticing because I've never used them since I started running multi channel images into Nuke? Is this just a new bug? Am I missing an obvious fix (quite possible)?
Thanks everyone!
