  • V-Ray license service did not start automatically as a Windows service

    Hello,
Our vray2 license is registered as a service in Win 7 with "automatic" as starting status.
However, everytime we restart the computer we need to start manually the license.

how can we solve this problem?

    Thanks

If you have it set to Automatic after you restart the computer, do you get a pop-up box that says "A service did not start....." ?
it should start and if it doesn't, or fails it will log it. Take a look in your Event log (right click my computer --> manage) Then in the Event Viewer check if anything mentions the VRLservice.

I did not get a pop up box after restarting and the service is not runing automaticatly.
There is a lot of VRLservice event log, translate into english it said : the ID description of event 0 is unknown and VRLservice is unfound. The composant that created this event is not installed on this computer or the installation is faulty. Service started.

I face the same problem on the slave computer with another WIN7 (ultimate and not PRO) in 64 bit too, but with the vrayspawer service, impossible to register it.

Is the dongle plugged in when you restart the machine. It seems from the event log message that it has not found the dongle. Are there any issues with the WIBU-Key drivers and which is the version installed?
About the V-Ray spawner issue, please make sure to use "Run as Administrator" option when registering it as a service.

dongle is plug and vray is working fine with Backburner.
          Vray last realease 2.xx
We can't use "run as admin" as we are log as admin.

Returning to work this year I found that my DR farm spawners were not working, when they were just fine before. It seems that Windows Firewall decided to update itself sometime over the break and stopped Vray from going. Switching off Windows firewall solved the VRspawner problem. Do you have any firewalls/virus scanners that have updated?

Do you mean that you have enabled the built-in Administrator account in Windows 7?.Would you please e-mail some screen shots showing the warning/error message which you get when trying to register the V-Ray spawner as a service. Please send it to vray@chaosgroup.com

Yes I have enable the built-in admin account on Win7.
This morning, after starting up this workstation, the service start automatically. I made a WIN7 reapear during the night from the CDrom.
However, i'm still facing the problem with DR. Can you have a look to the this thread : http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...s-32-vs-64-bit
