  • Did VFB srgb preview change in vray 2 ?

    Hello,
Since I installed vray 2 i noticed that the rendered image displayed in the vfb with srgb preview enabled is different than the max viewport. When I save the image, the saved file is also different.
I work in lwf and never had that problem before : the vfb output always matched perfectly my saved files or the max vfb. That's not a gamma problem : the max viewport is not washed out, it is just a little brighter, and less saturated than vray vfb.
Maybe I missed something here ?

    Nope, no changes whatsoever.

However keep in mind that the V-Ray VFB does actual sRGB color correction, whereas 3ds Max does simple gamma 2.2. There is a slight difference between these two, especially in the darker colors. This is not new for V-Ray 2.0 though, things were the same for 1.5.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Yes you're right vlado, srgb and gamma 2.2 are not exactly the same correction. It's strange the difference didn't strike me before.
it is true that I'm working on a very dark scene, maybe that's why the difference seems so obvious now.
