VRay LensEffect needs to recalculate the whole image !

Hello everyone

I have a problem when using VRay Lens Effects: I turn it On, and turn "Bloom" and "Glare" Off (to have a clean of any effect render). Once the render is done, I turn "Bloom" On and then click on the "Update Effect" as shown in Vlado's Youtube Video ... and the renderer starts all the job again ! (Irr map, Light cache ...). I have to mention here that VRay Lens Effects works fine with a complete new scene, and that this problem only happens when used with an old mental ray scene, converted into vray scene using the "vrayscene converter" option.
Anyone can help me please ?

I do also have the problem but only sometimes... I don't know what triggers vray to just redo the bloom and glare and not the whole image.

And sometimes after calculating lens effects rendered images gets brighter but effect didnt show up. But only sometimes too.

Is it possible that in the meantime you have accidentally done changes to the scene (e.g. changing some geometry, or a parameter value somewhere, or selecting objects etc)?

I do have sometimes the same problem hapenning: before rendering, I first set a "VRay Lens Effects" in the "Environment and Effects" Tab and check it is active. I set both "Glare" and "Bloom" inactive. I hit render. When it's done, I activate "Glare" and click on "Update Effect": the effect shows up on the render window, that's fine. But, sometimes, at this point, when I deactivate "Glare" and click on "Update Effect" again, the effect doesn't go off ... And when I activate it and update the effect again, the image gets even brighter just as said Jiri.Matys I didn't have the time to do a lot of tests. It only happened sometimes.

I didn't make changes. I hit "update Effect", it renders the image again and from then on it works.

i get this problem constantly!!!
Lens effects active, applies the effect upon render end.
after that i hit update effect (checking interactive or not doesnt matter)
and it starts recalculating the whole image!

Drives me nuts...its completely useless...i get it with every scene..no matter if i restart max or not..:-/
Is there any update on this bug?

Me too think it is useless: I stopped using it.
It is strange because some users seem to use it without any problems ...
It would be nice to have a ChaosGroup feedback about it.

I have this problem too. I find out, first open the effect tab where lens effects are. Click on it to see the parameters, dont change anything. Now hit F9, render a frame and now change anything from previous opened effects tab. It works.

anyway...
since one can now load vrayimg back into VFB, shouldnt one be able to use the effects without having to even load the scene???
