VRay LensEffect needs to recalculate the whole image !

since one can now load vrayimg back into VFB, shouldnt one be able to use the effects without having to even load the scene???

I dont know how it works exactly, but maybe it use another information from the scene, not only how bright is the pixel, but the reflection, glossiness, dont know.

hello,

just wanted to point out that my scenes keep re-rendering too, i just can´t get them to update instead of doing that. this way the effects are kind of useless, at least to me, because you can´t do any tweaking without wasting half a day waiting for test-renders.

anyone using those lens effects without troubles? the tip of jiri didn´t work for me... or maybe i got it wrong, how did you do it exactly jiri?

any fix on this vlado?

you need to keep the effects tab open, this way youll be able to work on it interactively after rendering...this works for me

stil kinda sad the vrimg cant be loaded into vfb and apply the effects at any given time such as you can see that fryrender works ...oh well...priority is elsewhere in vray (which i understand)...i guess we will have to either wait or do without

thanks for the clearing up martin! but nope, this doesn´t work for me, i mean keeping the effects tab open... too bad! i have those tabs open almost all the time on my second monitor, but tried it once again to no avail after your tip. in my case it always seems to rerender the scene. maybe the next update, keeping fingers crossed as i would really love to use those effects.

any chance there´s a build of vray 2.0 coming that doesn´t rerender the scene if playing around with the lens effects? would be appreciated very much!
