  • Dust like artifacts

    Hi all,
    getting weird artifacts in my WIP scene.
    all started happenning when i added a curtain object.
    any clue how to get rid of this stuff?
    Please help!

    this is crazy, i am even getting this on water surface by the pool where certain objects are reflecting!!! nuts

      Try turnin Subpixel mapping and clamp output on to see if it helps.

        supbixel smoothes it only out but its still there......dont want to clamp the output though :-/

          Than try to exclude the curtain from the speculars. I think its a shader based highlight problem!

            exclude from speculars? how do i do that?
            its weird, i ve copied the object, applied grey material, rendered with no artifacts....then i applied my material again and the problem was gone...thes is really weird!

              Looks kinda like caustics to me. If it pops up again try turning off GI caustics and see if that gets rid of it.

                This is where rendering with render elements helps a lot. Put a VRayReflection, VRaySpecular, VRayLighting element and re-render. Then you can see exactly where these are coming from.

                  Brett: hmm, appeared before i turned caustics on... Anyway, will try use affect shadows option or set the curtain not to generate caustics... Shame i have tO wait until monday to test this out
