  • Interior lighting (vraysunlight) passing through the ceiling)

    Hi valdo,

once i put "on" the sun light i see the light in the ceiling which should not happen.

well to me it looks like either:

    a) you have gaps in your model and the sun is hitting bits of your scene and bouncing into those areas,

    or more likely,

    b) you have your gi settings a bit wrong, and youre getting light leaks.

if using lightcache, try enabling "retrace threshold" this fixes some of these problems.
if using irradiance map, enable "check sample visibility" this will avoid blending samples from outside with those from inside.

or finally, and by far the simplest option,

put a box above your scene to block the sun

The last one [a box covering your ceiling] is a favorite of mine as it doesn't slow down the render times at all

If you have an outside polygon touching (or almost touching) an inside facing polygon with "its back in the sun", then vray sometimes assumes the outside facing polygon is sunlit, and therefore it will start spreading light in the way it does in your renders.
If it's ALMOST touching, you can adjust Irrmap/Lightcache tolerances to fix it. If it IS touching, the change your model.

But a box around your scene is always a good idea. Or you can use a Shell modifyer if you want an even quicker fix.
