  • Vray Proxy display error on 3ds max 2012

    Hi there!

Not only in 3ds max 2012, also in 2011, we're encountering the issue that our implemented V-Ray Proxies aren't displayed the way they should.
You can see what I'm talking about on the attached image.

Does anybody encountered this issue as well?

The Proxies are displayed in a wrong way. Scaled way too big, but being rendered correctly.

The Proxies' display option is set to 'preview from file'.

If I click on 'point' and back to 'preview from file', the current selected Proxy is displayed correct again.

Via MaxScript... I select all Proxies and execute "$.expand_frameNumber = on", nevertheless this option is on or off doesn't matter. This also works.

im havin a nearly similar issue in max 2011.
if i load a proxy or merge a mesh, and i has the same material so i have to check "use scene material", it gets displayed in the wrong scale until i would restart max.

i thought that would be a max thing...?

Can you get me a scene for this?

Same proxy problem here. When opening a scene, proxys are displayed in wrong scale.
If manually changing the display mode, everything works again as should..
It doesn't affect rendering at all.

              Any fix yet?

I believe it is fixed for the newer nightly builds, but I have to double-check.
