  • DR Spawner with 3ds max 2012 not working only on one Client

    Hi there!

    We've got 2 render-slaves and 3 workstations newly set up with win7 prof. x64 and 3ds max 2012.
I was in hope to get all slaves to render a specific scene together in DR mode. So far so good...or not.

The 2 render-slaves rendered fine and one older workstation (wk05) as well with the job-assigning workstation. One workstation (wk03) still keeps starting/restarting the DRspawner.

May it be possible that the assigning wk (wk04) cannot communicate with 'wk03'? Is there maybe a hardware config errorness of the inbuilt network-controllers?

Thanks for your suggestions; this is driving me nuts.

Did you do a backburner render on that machine?

Nope. Just freshly installed Workstations and Render-Slaves.

Ok; try to do a regular backburner render with those machines as render slaves. The first time it runs, it does some setup for backburner, which is apparently needed later on for the spawner to work successfully.

But it is weird that those render-slaves do what they should and only WK03 <-> WK04 won't communicate as they're supposed to do.

So,....finally, no luck. WK03 won't join in. I believe that there must be a fault somewhere in the network adapters' settings.

            What a mess

I didn't quite understand - is backburner rendering working properly?

              Best regards,
              Vlado

Yes, backburner is working quite well on this machine, but DR not.
