  • max 2012 + vray 2.10.01 = Vray frame buffer instability

    Hi,
I've really a lot of kind of LAG when using Vray frame buffer !
Takes a long time before i can act on this window after a render has finished.

Is it a known problem with 2012 ?

Try disabling the "improve quality progressively" checkbox found when you right click the little box just below the global coordinates on the main ui.

Which OS is this? 32-bit or 64-bit? Also, is it better if you switch from Nitrous to DirectX viewports?

            Best regards,
            Vlado

              Windows7 Pro x64
with Nitrous = LAG in the VFB
with Direct3D = no LAG in the VFB

Ok then; what happens when you disable the progressive refinement as KAKTUSDIGITAL suggested?

It already works, however you need to specifically enable the "Show realistic material in viewports" option for your materials.

Thanks. I have the same problem with my 1.5sp6, but now it solved the problem. Is this a bug?

I don't think it is a bug; more of an unexpected interaction between the different threads; will make a note to look into it, but it may well be a 3ds Max thing.
