  • vray proxy and vray fur control

I have a simple sphere with a gradient on it. The gradient is copied into the vray fur length map and works fine. If I change the sphere to a vrayproxy and have the gradient on, the fur does not show at all. If I turn off the length map that fur shows all over. Is there a solution to this ?

ok, ive added a uvw map to the vrayprox and it seems to work again now although now im not sure if the vray proxy is still a proper proxy...it seems to have converted the proxy into an actual mesh ..

Yep - and when it does this the preview becomes your mesh with all sorts of gaps and holes. You might need to have a non renderable copy of the proxy for fur and then your actual proxy too.
