  • VrayFurStyler working onl yin the default scene provided

    Hi Vlado,
i am having troubles making fru styler to work...
i do exactly everything as youve described and as per the sample scene provided but no matter what i do, the strands are not moving whatsoever...the paint area icon just flashes from blue to red but nothing happens.
    using CM/CM workspace.

Any ideas what could be wrong??

    Thanks

    Martin

      Vlado

        Hi Vlado,
        Its the 2011 version.
Strangely, it worsk on one machine and doesnt work on the othe one for some reason although we do the same procedure to style the vray fur....
I ve also bumped into another issue with vray fur....
I have a styled vray fur, merge it into a scene... All fine
But when i copy the style fur object with the base object (as instance or copy),
Then the newly copied object simply will not render with fur.

Ive also tried merging the same object in the scene renaming the objects and materials, but it doesnt help.
Does this mean tha the fur objects canno be copied or instanced???
Since trying to merge the other fur object in i can no longer see the hair in viewprt anymore.
Hope i explained this well...writing this from my phone

Also ... Quick question... Once the hair is styled, can i collapse the base fur object to editable poly??

        Thanks for your help Vlado!

          little update on the problems:

came to office this morning an all the styled objects in the viewport were not showing any fur strands...clicking through the various check boxes did not help..

          so

i collapsed the fur styler modified object to editable poly, copied it along with the fur object and it worked and showed the hair

i am glad it works but it makes me think something is not working right

out of sheer curiosity, what kind of object was it that you have styled? was it a simple geometry with a simple plane or sphere UVW mapping or was it some kind of character with a UV unwrap?
