LC rocketing memory usage up for no aparent reason...596 mins to go/not drop

Hi,

all of the sudden i started having problem with my LC.
It goes nuts, showing 596 minutes of comp time, memory usage exceeds 16GB!!!
no sign of LC samples.
NO displacement
NO fur
Nothing dynamic in the scene.

I am really stuck here...tried merging into a new file, reseting vray...nothing helps...

any ideas what could be causing this?

other files render fine

update:

after merging certain parts of the scene together in order to find workaround, the scene started working normally

is this vray bug or MAX bug???
