  • Bitmaps in light material not showing in viewport

    Ever since we upgraded to 2012, Our bitmaps wont show up in the viewport, They render fine, we just cant see them in the viewport. We are using Nitrous.

    Any thoughts or suggestions.

    Turn on the "Show realistic material in viewport" button for the VRayLightMtl material and it should be fine.

      Thanks Vlado, that worked. I do have one more question.

      When we put bitmaps in the bg weather its on a plane or in the environment. The image seems to be a lot more pixelated than it was in 2011. Is this a Vray issue or Max and is it solvable?

        Do you use the 3ds Max Bitmap texture for this, or VRayHDRI? Does it change if you switch to DirectX viewports?

          For the bg that you see, its a simple, 3ds max bitmap texture. I havent tried Direct X yet. Will try it sometime today and let you know.

            Hm, it must be a Nitrous issue then; I think there are options to change texture sizes for the viewports somewhere in the 3ds Max preferences.

              yeah I just read I have to enable bitmap proxies to do that. Don't think that's something we want to do here. I ll just deal with it, its not that big of a deal. Thanks for trying though Vlado.
