  • Velocity RE problem

    Hello,

I'm facing a weird issue, when doing an additional pass to get only a VRay-Velocity RE. You can see what I'm getting on several frames on the enclosed image ... the scene is pretty "simple", the only tricky part is that geometry is somehow self-constructing during the animation

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards.Click image for larger version

is there any objects which have skin wraps on them? you may want to try applying turn to poly modifier on top of your geometry and see if it helps.

      Hello

Thanks for your fast answer. No skin wraps in the scene ... the thing that could be the most "tricky" for the renderer to handle is maybe the animated volSelect with DeleteMesh on top ? The weird thing is that this kind of problem doesn't appear on each frame, but regularly during the animation
i'm testing right now with an Edit Poly mod on top of the object using VolSelect & Delete Mesh, since it's the only object that seems to make problems appear !

      Thanks again for your suggestions.

      Regards.

oh crap ... it's still the same
I'll see if I can post the video of the Velocity RE images sequence for you to see the problem completely

        Regards.

Try using mental ray or scanline to render out Velocity pass- see if they can get u want u want.

              Hello Dadal,

Thanks for your suggestion, but tbh, I'd rather get VRay computing correctly this RE ... and not needing to switch renderer for this or that particular stuff
I'd like to get the opinion from someone at Chaos Group, maybe is it a mistake I made, or a bug that could be solved pretty easily or ... a limitation ?

              Thanks again.

              Regards.

Thats why I suggested mental ray and scanline.

If they will give u the same results then its 3ds max/ geometry issue...

okok, I'll try to test that today .... I somehow hope it's a VRay problem, because if it's due to 3dsmax, I'm f****d

Ok it's confirmed, it's a VRay problem ... std 3dsmax scanline renderer outputs perfectly Velocity RE !!
Please fix that in VRay ...

                    Regards.

try add reset xform modifier and edit mesh on top... See if they would fix it... then see if mapping coordinates could cause it...
