  • Help with odd rendering problem

I have never had this trouble before. See the attached file. Vray is only rendering a little piece of each map. Procedural textures seem to render ok. The problem seems to be with materials that use diffuse maps.

The top image is what the render looks like. The bottom is a screen grab from the shaded viewport.

I suspect i have inadvertently done something to cause this but I can't figure out what. Using Max Design 2012 (somewhat new for me) and Vray 1.5 sp6

Has anyone seen this before? Any help fixing this will be very much appreciated.

It seems that some of your render nodes can't find the texture maps

Looks more like duplicated geometry possibly as the parts with the texture maps aren't rectilinear like you'd expect from a missing map on a certain node (look at the roof).

      -or-

It almost looks like the textures aren't tiling for some reason. Check UV's and map coordinate settings.

          dlparisi,

You provided the answer. for some reason I had a material with the tile u/v de-selected. copied that changed the map and renamed and assigned to other objects. repeat a few times. Result - multiple materials all with tile deselected. didn't realize it because it tiles in the shaded viewport so I thought well it's all good. I fell stupid but relieved it was so easy to fix.

Thanks to all for your help!!!
