Strange Hair&Fur error

I have 2 workstation xeon 5365 and xeon 5690, both are running win xp64 bit and max Design 2011 64 bit + vray 2.10.01 64 bit
Problem consist that one simply scene with hair & fur on carpet won't render on xeon 5690 (24 cores) ...
The same scene, max, xp... but different hardware

This is an error in the Hair&Fur engine on 24-core machines (I get it too here); it seems fine for 3ds Max 2012, but I don't know if there is much to be done for older versions.

I think that only upgrading to max 2012 can resolve problem...
