I have a problem with white artifacts in a picture. I know that I can get rid of them with use of subpixel mapping but I don't want to do that because the render looks dull with it.
I understand that the white artifacts happens because of AA for areas of the picture many times brighter than white, but I don't understand why the white artifacts appear on surfaces that shouldn't have any overbright areas.
Have a look at the picture below. There is a sun shining on the surface. It doesn't have bump map, it's just a flat surface. I understand if there would be a sun reflection in the corners of the surface but there isn't any!
Any advice on how to remove those would be appreciated.
