Why does LC hate me?

I am sure this has been brought up before - sorry if its been worked out. But...

This happens almost every proj. at least 1 time. I press render and LC basically seems to fail. It starts processing and then stops, wont go any further and if I try to open the max file again its corrupt. I can usually find a good working version in my autoback but whats the issue? It just happened right now, I pressed render cancelled to change camera views pressed render again and the second time it did the LC freeze. Lost maybe 5 min of work and now its rendering fine.

That's a new one to me. You sure your hard drive isn't failing or your RAM going bad? Seems like it might be a system problem more than a Vray one.

Got that a few times using Max 2011. Usually Max decided it was time to autosave during the time I pressed render and doing so made Max corrupt the file due to the save and stop doing the LC. Looks like its fixed in Max 2012, because I don't have it anymore.

I am still getting it in 2012 but the autosave thing sounds right almost all of the crashes I get are when max does an autosave.
