  • Render region rendering different [V-ray frame buffer]

    Hi,

I have this bug(?¿) in one simple scene when doing render region, the regions are rendered with different color/contrast...

Dont understand what is happening but it looks really weird to me

Hmm, try rendering the light cache to a file for the whole image, then set light cache to "from file". just a guess...

This is not the point but knowing why rendering regions is giving different results....

      Thanks

I'm not sure what settings your using, but I'm pretty sure final gather will render differently from region to region,
since the rays are shot from the camera. I think it works like this, if you shot out 50 samples to the whole frame is going to be spread out.
Now if you shot out the same 50 samples into the region there going to be more condensed.
Well thats the way I think it works, its not like photons where its coming from the light source.

This is normal; for region rendering the light cache subdivs are reduced depending on the render region size. If your light cache settings were low to begin with, then the reduced number of subdivs may not be enough to sufficiently propagate light into the scene, especially if you have very bright materials like in your case. Increasing the light cache subdivs should help with this.

            Best regards,
            Vlado
