  • DR bucket inconsictency - IM differs BUT render is fine

    Hi all,
    got an issue.
Recently we crossed over to max 2012, got everything succesfully running.

    BUT

i ve got and issue with DR.

when i render, the MAIN workstation buckets render a bit differently than the buckets from the NODES.
Looks as if it rendered with a different intensity or perhaps gamma....thedifference is not so big though.

The final render looks ok though which is very weird and i ve never encountered this before.

Usually when IM buckets are different, the render buckets are different too.

Any idea what could be doing this???

    Thanks a lot for reply

    Best Regards
    Martin

    this is even more strange

irradiance map - please notice the intensity inconsistency

    alpha while rendering IM

when the final rendering pass is being done, the alpha render fine though so does the final image!!!

the inconsistency is not bound to a specific computer as i ve found just now...its absolutelly random

        Hi Vlado,
i really need to sort this out ...its really troubling issue.
Why is the IM rendering differently on each node and then the final rendering is fine? why does it affect the alpha???
I am very happy to pass the scene over for debug as i have no other means of debug other than the VrayBucket pass and that one renders completely random compared to the way the IM and final pass renders.
        Thank you

If you can get me the scene, it will be helpful, yes, but keep in mind that some differences in the preview of the irradiance map from the DR slaves are normal since the preview is sent at lower precision (but the actual data is still correct). I suppose that this may affect the alpha channel too.

          Best regards,
          Vlado
