  • Hair&Fur Vray 2.20.01 not rendering

    Seens there is a problem again with Hair&Fur
    I use :
    max 2012 X64
    Hair&Fur
    Vray 2.20.01
    Vray Hair mtl
    Mr prim


    This is for a animation so (brute force, lightcache with retrace thresold)

    Any idea ?

    Hm, works for me on a simple test; can you post the scene here or send it to vray@chaosgroup.com? Also, can you verify in the plugin manager that HAIRVROBJ2012.DLO plugin is loaded?

      Ok works again but seens not to be really stable
      I'll check if HAIRVROBJ2012.DLO plugin is loaded if it bugs again !

      BTW is the Mr Prim the best ?
      First time i render hair&fur with Vray and didn't found many help/tutorials about this

        It really depends on what you want to do; with the "mr prim" option, V-Ray will render the hair&fur directly, which means that it will be integrated with the lights, GI, DOF etc. But it might be slower to render.

          Grrr
          finaly rendering this.
          BB renders crashs.

          It doens't when i dont use the news VrayHairMtl.
          I'm using Mr prim.

            Yep i've more and more crash too since i'm testing HaitMtl...

            VrayLog returning Warning : invalid geometric normal for "HairVrShadeable".
            Could email scene if needed.

              i've done a clean de-install / install of vray on one of my servers.
              Still crash every frame : UNEXPECTED ERROR ...

              same scene with no VrayhairMtl and it renders

                The issue seems to be due to a geometry (Object005) with incorrect normals.
                To fix it you need to apply Edit normals modifier to the mesh and use the Unify option.
