  • render element not working (vraylightselect...)

    Hello,

We are unable to have the render element working.
    - 2 vray light (plane)
    - 1 vray plane
    - 1 teapot

    Vray VFB (frame buffer)

We tried with vrayshadow, vraymatID, .... same issues.
All render element came out black, only the RGB and alpha are visible.

    Any idea?

    Thanks

I had some issues where the Vrayshadow render elements would not work until I applied materials to the objects. Give that a go.

...and I think that VrayLightselect needs VrayMat on objects to work.

right, with a vray material it works better, but not perfect.
Render elements are visible in the VFB but can't be save on the hard drive automatically (with a path in the save field).

So you render still frame with some elements to Vfb and save those using "Save separate render channels" button?
          ...and it doesn't work?

Or you render to Vfb, but have the save path in Max standard image output path?
This way you need to use Max fb to get elements saved automatically.

            Here is my process:
            Inside render setup->render element
click "Add" to add a Vray render element like vrayAlpha...
put a path in "select element parameter"

Then when render, I can see the vray render element in the VFB but they are not save in the hard drive.
To save them, I have to do it manually from the VFB->save

So I just discover that "save separate render channels" must be on to have the render element save to Hard drive. Thanks for the info.
