  • Empty buckets (Textures and Lighting)

Not sure this is a Vray question or a Max question. I thought I'd start here since we all know this is the best forum on the planet.

I just added two Boxx servers to my renderfarm. They are running Windows 7 Professional whereas my other servers are running Windows Server 2003 x64. I've loaded Max 2012 and Vray 2.0 on the new servers as always, have mapped the file server/drive exactly as I always have and can browse to the files from the new servers but rendering doesn't seem to see the resources and I get dark buckets with no textures.

Is there something obvious that I'm overlooking?

    Thanks.

Make sure you have an open port for 30304 for DR. I had a bit of an issue with Windows 7 and DR on the new machine, and I think creating a new inbound and outbound rule in the firewall is what got it working properly.

IT found the problem which I'm posting in case anyone else experiences the same thing:

I found out what was causing the problem.

I did not realize that when they copied the data from the old disk drive F:, to the new drive, that it was now a network share vs. a locally attached volume.

Now that I know that this is the case I simply need to change the monitoring so its not looking for an F: drive on the server.
