Possible Bug - xrefed screne + VrayLightMtl + Direct Illumination

Haven't narrowed this down further but...

Vray 2.20.03
Parent scene has multiple scenes xrefed into it.
One of those scenes has elements with VrayLightMtl assigned. All defaults except the color changed to yellow.
With "Direct illumination" turned on, max locks up and will not render the parent scene.
With it turned off it renders fine.

Yes, this was reported a number of times, but unfortunately it is not easy to find a fix for it.
