  • What is the best approach to Render moving Objekt without flickering

    Hi there,

i soon have to render a bunch of 360° turntable animations.

My problem is that i need to fix the lightning and have to rotate the Objekts in 5° steps.

What is the best Rendersetting to get a flickerfree animation in this Case ?

    Any advice would be helpful.

    Best regards

Are you going to rotate the objects or the camera? Except for this movement, is there other movement going on?

I am going to rotate the Objects, since i want the lights to be fixed.

And no,there is no other movement except the rotating object.

For the turntables, are the objects literally sitting on a ground plane? Are they inside a room as well or is it a 3d render to show off the model only? If so, similar to the type of thing you'd see on a modelling reel you might find that Brute force and light cache is a very quick option, as if your object isn't under a roof, a lot of the brute force rays bounce off the object and immediately fire off into space which leads to very quick sampling. You can control your grain using the bf samples and if the image looks clean enough in a single still, then you won't get any major artifacts over the course of the animation in most cases!

bf/light cache will flicker. But typically using just lighting/bf for primary bounce is enough.

I want to render the rotating objects on a matte plane.

There is no room and only some lights and a vray dome light with a hdri image.

I want to achive something similar to this http://www.apple.com/html5/showcase/threesixty/

I need to render 15 different products 72 frames each with the best time vs. quality compromise

so you mean just bf for primary and secondary completley turned off?

yes exactly. If you use a dome light for your primary ray (direct lighting) then brute force will compute 1 secondary bounce and stop, which will not illuminate as bright in the secondary bounces but will still be gi. However, since this is a more of a product rendering in the open space, I think the render time should be quite minimal even if you use bf/bf for both primary and secondary.

Ahh great, i will try this out tomorrow. I also thought about trying the rt gpu, since i dont use very complex materials.

Will give this a try too.

Thanks for the great tips so far.
