  • Multiscatter and V-ray 2.30.01

I've just updated to the latest v-ray build and found out that multiscater isn't rendering. Anyone tried it yet? I'm not sure if it's a problem specific to my configuration or it's just an incompatibility between the new V-ray and the latest MS build (dating feb 22,2012.). I've asked on the R&D MS forum but they are notoriously slow on responses.

The V-Ray SDK is compatible between 2.20 and 2.30 - we haven't changed anything in that regard.

    Best regards,

Since I've moved to max 2012 recently I was doing some tests a few days ago. Everything worked fine. I just can't recall If I were using the latest v-ray build. I'll give another try on a different machine... Anyhow, it's pretty strange that it doesn't work...

Well.. It doesn't work. Somehow seems it's related to the MS plugin not working with the new V-ray.

Multiscatter needs to be recompiled for max 2013 and for the new VRay SDK.
Karba will probably get on to it sometime soon.... maybe....

It will need a recompile for 3ds Max 2013 for sure, but it should fine for 3ds Max 2012.

Multiscatter (annoyingly) has a version check before vray can render and currently it is locked to VRay 2.2

figures... I'll have to revert back to V-ray 2.2... damn. At least they could track and anticipate new v-ray releases (that are far less common than Autodesk app new releases) since it's a plugin developed from Vrayscatter.
