  • Problem with clipping cameras and Vray for Max2013

Just making a start with Vray for Max2013 (x64) and find that if I am looking through a Vraycamera and adjusting the near clipping, the viewport only updates if I pan the camera slightly (I guess it is refreshing the viewport).

With a standard Max camera, adjusting near clipping is realtime as you would expect.

Any ideas? Is this a bug?

(I don't think this is just with clipping - it happens when changing the focal length too. I am using the default Nitrous graphics setup)

Works as expected for me on a very quick test, both with focal length and clipping - is there anything specific that needs to be done to reproduce the error?

    Best regards,

I'm just trying to pin it down...

I'm using a GTX480 with old (although apparently Autodesk certified) drivers. Could that be related?

I've switched from Nitrous to Direct3D and all is fine. Sorry to raise concern.

No worries, but I'm still curious as to why it happened - I used Nitrous in my tests here; I'm with a GeForce 680 GTX right now, but I don't think it matters that much.

I've just installed the latest updates from Nvidia, so I will reinstate Nitrous and see what happens.

(Driver 296.10 has just been installed and I have switched back to Nitrous. Now things seem to be working better in the viewports (interactive clipping of Vraycameras etc), so I will keep going with this setup)

(Edit 2: It appeared to be working initially, but now it isn't. Weird. If I look through the vray camera and change the focal length, the viewport doesn't update. I have to pan the camera slightly for the view to be refreshed. It seems it isn't just with vraycameras. I have put a simple sweep modifier on a line and am changing to change the parameters, but the viewport doesn't update as I change the values. What is going on here?)
